Min Yoon Gi, better known as Suga or Agust D, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter and record producer. He is the lead rapper of the South Korean boy group BTS, and made his debut on June 13, 2013, as a member of BTS on Mnet’s M! Countdown with the track "No More Dream" from their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Together with the members of BTS, he went on to win a series of awards and performed at several events such as the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and the award "Top Social Artist" and "Top Duo/Group" at the Billboard Music Awards (BBMA).
Suga was born on March 9, 1993, in Buk District, Daegu, South Korea. His family consists of mother, father and an older brother. Before his debut with BTS, he was an underground rapper going by the stage name "Gloss". Yoongi chose to become a rapper after listening to "Fly" by Epik High.
In March 2019, after graduating from the Global Cyber University with a degree in Broadcasting and Entertainment, he enrolled at Hanyang Cyber University for the Master of Business Administration program in Advertising and Media.
Alongside the other members of BTS, Suga was awarded the Hwagwan of Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea, for contributing Korean Culture and Literature to the World.
