Shin Seung Tae is a South Korean trot singer and traditional musician. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Korean Traditional Music from Dankook University. He was one of the vocalists of folk-rock fusion band "SsingSsing" who debuted in 2010 with a mix of psychedelic rock, folk music and disco and gained international attention when, in 2017, they appeared in the United States’ National Public Radio (NPR) in the show "Tiny Desk Concerts" before BTS did. The band disbanded in 2018 and Shin decided to switch to trot music. He participated in "Mr. Trot" but was eliminated in the preliminary round and later entered KBS "National Trot Festival" and placed 4th. He is also interesting in acting as he tries to diversify his career.
