Jung Young Joo, known by the stage name Seo J to avoid being confused with fellow musical actress Jung Young Joo, is a South Korean singer, musical actress, university professor and book author. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music from Gunsan National University. She is also appointed as music professor at Baek Seok Ye University and Seoul New University. She has written several books on self-study vocal training and is also a public relations ambassador for Kunsan University and for Loving Hands. She wanted to become a singer since she was young and in 1995 she won the Grand Prize at the 1st Jeonbuk Youth Music Festival and made her debut in 2008 with the single "I Hate Love" and in 2009 released her first album, "Vitamin". She has been releasing singles or albums steadily since then, has recorded several drama OSTs and began acting in musicals even winning the Best Actress at the Korean Musical Awards in 2016 and in 2021.
