South Korean criminal psychologist. She graduated in 2001 from Seoul National University with a dual bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology. She then obtained two masters: in 2003, in Criminal Investigation Psychology from the University of Liverpool and in 2004, in Social Psychology from Seoul National University. In 2009, she obtained her Ph.D. in Criminal Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the City University of New York (CUNY).
She worked as a professor in the Department of Public Administration at the Korean National Police University from 2010 until 2015. Since 2016, she is a professor of social psychology at Sookmyung Women’s University.
She is frequent guest expert in the show "Unaswered Questions". She has served as an expert advisor for the Sentencing Commission of the Supreme Court of Korea, an advisor on forensic investigation for the National Police Agency, and an advisor on crime statistics for Statistics Korea. In 2020, she was awarded the Minister of the Interior and Safety’s Commendation in recognition of her contributions to advancements in police administration.
