Gong Min Ji became a YG trainee at 11 years old and went on to become the main dancer of 2NE1. After 7 years, Minzy left the group in April 2016 to launch her career as a solo artist with Music Works. In April 2017, Minzy finally released her debut album "Minzy Work 01. Uno", with the title track "Ninano" peaking at 10 in Korea, and 2 on US World charts.
The last time 2NE1 performed together as a group was at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA),
In August 2017, she graduated from Baekseok University magna cum laude from the Department of Theology.
On April 17, 2020, she left Music Works after her legal dispute was settled.
On May 24, 2020, she released her single "Lovely", her first released as an independent artist. In October 2020, she founded her own company MZ Entertainment and will carry out her future activities on her future agency. A month later, She signed with Viva Entertainment for her musical activities in the Philippines.
On April 16, 2022 2NE1 performed their iconic smash hit “I AM THE BEST" at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (Indio, California) making a surprise reunion after 6 years.
