Lee Kyung Son was a Korean film director , screenwriter , film critic , theater actor , and co- writer who mainly worked in Korea and Shanghai during the Japanese colonial period. He started studying theater in 1922 . In 1923, he established the Performing Arts Research Society and started full-scale theatrical performances. Meanwhile, from 1924 to 1928, he was also active as a critic. He began to criticize film techniques, not just the acting and plot of films, and is considered the first full-fledged film critic in Joseon. His directorial debut was The Story of Shim Cheong.
