Lee Ja Yeon is a South Korean singer. She made her debut with the song "Your Meaning" in 1986, a remake of Na Hoon-ah’s song "My You". She always regretted not attending college due to her being a singer so, in 2011, she took the 1st round of freshman recruitment acting selection and also took the university scholastic ability test at Konkuk University. She was able to pass and enrolled in the Arts Department at the College of Arts and Culture. She later went on to graduate school in journalism and public relations, where she earned her master’s degree. During college, she was a classmate of Jin from BTS. In 2018, she succeeded Kim Heung Guk as the president of the Korea Singers Association becoming the first female president of the association.
