Born in 1960, Lee Il Jae graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in Theater and Film. He made his debut as a theater actor in 1981 and became known after appearing in 1990 film “The General’s Son”, with his role Kim Dong Hwe. After appearing in all three “The General’s Son” films, he continued to promote through various historical dramas such as “Rustic Period”, “Age of Warriors”, “Jang Gil San”, “Yeon Gaesomun”, “The King and I”, “The Great King, Se Jong”, and more. He also made a special appearance in the 2017 film “The Sheriff in Town”.
Lee Il Jae married his wife Hwang Ji Seon in 2000 and has left behind two daughters.
Lee Il Jae has passed away at the age of 58 from lung cancer.
