Kim Tae Hyung, better known by his stage name V, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, dancer, record producer, actor, and member of the boy group BTS. V was born in Seo District, Daegu, South Korea on December 30, 1995. He moved to Kajang, then moved back to Daegu, before moving to Seoul. V graduated from Global Cyber University with a major in Broadcasting and Entertainment. As of 2021, he is enrolled at Hanyang Cyber University, pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Advertising and Media.
V made his debut on June 13, 2013, as a member of BTS on Mnet’s M! Countdown with the track “No More Dream” from their debut single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. Together with the members of BTS, he went on to win a series of awards and has performed at several events such as the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and is the receiver of 7 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs). He has produced and written 10+ songs with writing credits including BTS classics such as “Run” and many solo songs like “Stigma”, “Singularity”, “Inner Child”, and “Sweet Night” (Itaewon Class OST).
V debuted as an actor in the 2016 historical series “Hwarang”. Alongside the other members of BTS, V was awarded the Hwagwan of Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea, for spreading Korean culture and language to the world.
