Kim Sung Ji, also known as Michael Kim, is a South Korean singer. He graduated from Daeil Foreign Language High School and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Theater and Film from Chung-Ang University. He made his debut in 1985, while still only a sophomore in high school, with his 1st album, "I’ll Tell You Today" and became popular in the 1980s due to his rivalry with singers Park Hye Sung and Kim Myung Chul. In 1986, he won the rookie award at the MBC Teen Singer Song Festival. He also ventured into acting with a role in the 1989 KBS drama "Moonlight Family" but after that, he focused on his singing career, producing 7 albums before taking a semi-retirement in 2005. In 2020, he released a new digital single "Take Me To You", began appearing in music shows again and formed a band called "Michael Band".
