Jessica Jung is a South Korean-American singer, songwriter, actress, model, fashion designer, businesswoman, and former member of the South Korean girl group, Girls’ Generation. Although she is currently based in South Korea, Jessica was born and raised in California. At the age of eleven, she was scouted by the South Korean entertainment agency, SM Entertainment, and subsequently moved to South Korea. In 2007, Jung debuted as a member of the South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation.
As an actress, Jessica has portrayed Elle Woods in the Korean-language version of Legally Blonde in 2010 and played a role in the drama Wild Romance in 2012. In early 2014, she finished establishing her own fashion brand, Blanc & Eclare. Later that year, she claimed she was forced out to leave Girls’ Generation. One year after her departure from Girls’ Generation, SM entertainment and Jessica came to an agreement to end her contract. She signed with Coridel Entertainment in 2016, prior to the release of her debut solo album, With Love, J. She is now represented by United Talent Agency since May 2018.
