Jeong Hyun Sook is a South Korean singer. She developed her dream of becoming a singer by participating in a local singing show and. In 1976, she first recorded the song ‘It’s Boiling’ on the B-side of the album of her manager and singer Kim Sang-beom, after which she released her first solo album, ‘Fairly Together’. In 1978, she moved to Seongnam to continue her career as a singer when she was 20 years old and after graduating from high school.
In 1980 her song "Really" became a massive hit and she won the MBC Top 10 Singer Award for three consecutive years, causing a huge wave in the music industry and making a splendid debut. After several years of unsuccessful songs, she rose to popularity again in 1997 at a time when the whole nation was in despair due to the IMF crisis, when her song "요즘여자 요즘남자" was awarded in the female singer category at the Broadcasting Awards. Her stage included 5 backup dancers and it was later revealed that Super Junior’s Shindong was one of the dancers. Since then, she has been active and releasing songs or albums which are popular among the middle-age and elderly Koreans.
