Jung Hun Cheol, better known by his stage name Iron, was a South Korean rapper. He was a contestant on "Show Me the Money 3". He released his first album, Rock Bottom, on September 9, 2016.
On April 1, 2016, Jung was seen smoking a cigarette that appeared to be marijuana. After an investigation, he admitted the fact and received two years of probation, a fine, and attend 40 hours of rehabilitation. In November 2016, Iron was found guilty of assaulting his girlfriend multiple times, despite him pleading not guilty and attempting to deny all the allegations, and received a one-year sentence. It was stated that he had hit her in the face during sex, causing fractures; he also strangled her when she attempted to end the relationship, as well as injuring himself with a kitchen knife and threatening to blame it on her.
On December 10, 2020, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul stated that rapper Iron had assaulted his 18-year-old (Korean age) roommate, around 7 p.m. on the night before where he hit their backside about 50 times for 20 minutes with a baseball bat. According to the police statement, Iron said that it had been a disciplinary measure, but admitted to the assault. After completing their investigation, the police booked Iron on the charge of assaulting a minor. The Yongsan police station has requested a pretrial detention warrant from the court. A source from the police stated the reason for the request was because there were concerns that the suspect might run or commit a second offense.
On January 25, 2021, Iron was found by the apartment security guard laying in a flowerbed outside his apartment complex bleeding. He was taken to the hospital but eventually died.
