Choi Jong Ryul, born in Gangneung of Gangwon-do, is a South Korean film and theater actor, playwright, performance director and a university professor. He graduated in 1973 from the department of western art of Seoul National University. He became a theater actor in 1986, and then worked as a musical actor in 1989 before participating in film acting in 1991.
In 2011, he served as the organizing chairman of the 1st Seoul Christian Performing Arts Festival, and was also the Theatrical Testimony Executive Director. In September 2019, he joined Handong Global University as a lecturer in the Department of Communication.
