Kim Hyun Jung, known professionally as BMK and formerly as Big Mama King, is a South Korean singer. She graduated from Sokcho Girls’ High School and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Seoil University. She made her debut in 2003 with her 1st album, "No More Music" and immediately attracted attention due to her powerful vocals. She is considered as the "National Mother of Soul" due to her amazing vocal endurance. She used the stage name Big Mama King at the beginning of her career but with the emergence of the group Big Mama, she decided to change her stage name to BMK. She served as a professor in the Department of Practical Music at Seoul General Arts and Practical School, and also worked as a vocal trainer as the director of Soul Train Vocal Academy.
