Ahn Shin Ae is a South Korean singer and former member of THE BARBERETTES. She had the idea to make a retro-inspired girl group so she decided to follow a doo-wop style and also tried to reproduce the a cappella barbershop music style that was a hit in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. The group began performing in indie venues since 2012 but made their official debut in 2014 with the release of their 1st album "The Barberettes, Vol. 1". In 2016, the group performed extensively in Europe and North America and released their second studio album. In 2018, member Park So Hee left the group leaving her and Sunnie Lee to regroup now as a duo. In 2019, they joined SWEET SORROW and performed together as SBSB but promotions slowed down and she decided to venture into musical theater. She also wrote, composed, arranged and/or produced songs for Lee Hi and Lena Park. In 2023, she helped Hwasa write lyrics and compose her single album "I Love My Body" and afterwards, she signed an exclusive contract with Psy Nation (Hwasa’s agency). Later that year, she re-debuted as a soloist with the single "Respect".
