Netflix’s “Parasyte: The Grey” will soon be coming to the small screen!
Based on the universe of the legendary manga series “Parasyte” by Hitoshi Iwaaki, “Parasyte: The Grey” will follow the events that unfold when mysterious parasitic life-forms fall to Earth from outer space and attempt to gain power by living off of human hosts.
Jeon So Nee stars as Jeong Su In, a woman who falls victim to one of the mysterious parasites. However, when it fails to take over her brain, she unexpectedly begins a bizarre coexistence with it. Goo Kyo Hwan will co-star as Seol Kang Woo, who is on a quest to track down parasites in order to find his missing sister.
The upcoming series will be helmed by Yeon Sang Ho, the director of the iconic zombie film “Train to Busan” and the hit Netflix series “Hellbound,” who will also be penning the script together with “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” writer Ryu Yong Jae.
The newly released poster depicts the strange spores of the mysterious parasites falling on earth. The spores that fall down on humans eventually penetrate inside them, causing them to make diverse transformations. At the center of the poster is Su In, whose face is half-transformed with the parasite inside her coming out like a tentacle. Viewers are curious to find out how symbiosis with the parasites will play out.
In particular, anticipation is high for how Su In will survive as not a human or parasite but rather an abnormality. The text on the poster reads, “The parasites hidden amongst us,” raise anticipation for the story that will unfold amidst a situation in which one cannot distinguish between human and parasite.
“Parasyte: The Grey” is slated to premiere via Netflix on April 5. Stay tuned for more updates!
