Last week, “Branding in Seongsu” left viewers hanging with Kang Na Eon (Kim Ji Eun) and So Eun Ho (Lomon) sharing a kiss in hopes to return to their respective bodies. But what looked like a moment for those two to focus on changing back turned out to be a whole new drill of confrontation and some more plotting from our duo, especially from Kang Na Eon as So Eun Ho. Here are three especially defying moments for them in this week’s episodes!
Warning: spoilers from episodes 9-12 ahead!
1. The underdog team trying to pull out a marketing strategy for a sex toy shop
Once it’s clear that sharing a kiss isn’t the way to change their bodies back, Kang Na Eon puts her plan into action by bringing So Eun Ho as herself to the underdog team, where she becomes the team leader. Despite feeling confident about his abilities to resemble Kang Na Eon’s fiery personality, So Eun Ho fails miserably, being too afraid of the situation to bring out his acting abilities. Their team is assigned to start a new marketing strategy for none other than a sex toy company, something that is still a taboo for many women. It is worthy to note that this K-drama once again is bringing onto the table topics that are rarely seen in Korean shows, which is remarkable, and that supposes an almost impossible challenge for a team like them.
However, the underdog team proves to be more skilled than they seem and quickly start to draft a plan in order to make it a success, although this time Kang Na Eon will have to take a step back and remain just as a new employee while So Eun Ho takes the lead, since he is the one in her body. During this time it is kind of clear that switching their bodies is no longer one of their main concerns, nor is it trying to pretend to be one another, as the bubbly personality of Kang Na Eon is justified with her losing her memory after her accident and the bossy character from Eun Ho is nicely received as well.
2. Kang Na Eon as So Eun Ho joining Do Yu Mi’s side
What looks like a true priority for Kang Na Eon now is finding out more about the person who tried to kill her, and that means she will use So Eun Ho’s handsome looks and her deathly charisma in order to gain Do Yu Mi’s (Yang Hye Ji) trust so that she will finally reveal who the person supporting her behind the scenes is. As Na Eon suspects this person is the one who ordered her attack, she appears as Do Yu Mi’s savior when another team leader tries to harass her after revealing that he has evidence proving she was the whistleblower in the cosmetic company’s situation.
Though it is difficult for Do Yu Mi to believe in So Eun Ho, since she thinks he is actually dating Na Eon, she gives him a chance to prove that he really wants to get rid of her rival and that he will work with her, without ever suspecting that the one who is really plotting everything is Na Eon. She now confirms that Do Yu Mi is somehow involved with her attempted murder, but she is far from discovering who that person is. Nonetheless, she now has the advantage of a super hot male body on her side, which apparently she will exploit to its fullest, disregarding So Eun Ho’s opinion on the matter.
3. Kang Na Eon and So Eun Ho competing for a new marketing campaign
Now that So Eun Ho – meaning Kang Na Eon – is on Do Yu Mi’s side, she sees a new opportunity to gain her trust by competing with Kang Na Eon (actually So Eun Ho) with a new project for a soju brand. The problem is? Na Eon actually worked with the owner of the company before. He is a good-for-nothing entrepreneur whose attempts of business always end up failing. But he is sadly the son of a director in the group they work for, so they really can’t help but hope to please him and help him to avoid another failure.
Though Na Eon throws the underdog team under the bus to demonstrate that Team one is the right one for the job, Eun Ho isn’t completely discouraged and confronts Na Eon for her actions, proving that he as well can set his boundaries straight. Each team departs to make their own strategies, with Eun Ho looking for a true answer into why the soju isn’t selling well, and Na Eon looking for a more aggressive approach, hiring a popular star to endorse the product. By the end of the night, both of them end up drunk and in a compromising situation between Do Yu Mi and Cha Jung Woo (Kim Ho Young). However, we will find out the outcome of this love square in next week’s episodes of “Branding in Seongsu,” so don’t forget to tune in!
