They have lived illiterate because poverty and intimate discrimination prevented them from going to school. 10 years ago, Kim Sun Ja, moved into this village and started to teach them reading and writing. Finally, grandmothers got out of illiteracy and wrote down their own life-filled poems. However, the daily lives of grandmothers are unchanged.
