Parasite is a Korean movie that revolves around the Kim family, who are struggling to make ends meet by doing odd jobs. One day, their son Ki-woo lands a job as a tutor for the wealthy Park family’s daughter. This leads to a series of events that sees the Kim family infiltrating the lives of the Parks, as they take on various roles in the household.
As the story progresses, it becomes clear that the Kims have become parasites, feeding off the wealth and resources of the Parks. However, things take a sinister turn when a former employee of the Parks returns, threatening to expose the Kims’ deception.
The movie explores themes of class inequality and the lengths people will go to in order to improve their lives. It is a dark and suspenseful thriller that keeps the audience guessing until the very end. Parasite won numerous awards, including the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2020.
