Produced with the ‘plain archives’ for the Blue Ray version of Oldboy (2003), Old Days covers the whole process of Oldboy including direction and acting, cinematography, lighting, and production design. Han Sunhee, who produced MANSHIN: Ten Thousand Spirits(2013) and The Basement Satellite (2013) reconstructs the stories that took place during the making of Oldboy, which had the greatest international impact in the history of Korean cinema. The key word that runs throughthe film is ‘time’. The creative activity of filmmaking uses time as a medium and changes as if it were organic. It is also connected to the central theme of Oldboy. Old Days shows the mystery of cinema that emerges when the artistic awareness of a director who does not compromise for his vision, the production circumstances, and diverse crew members with diverse sterminates all clash.
