Synopsis

Ye Jin works as a model. A documentary team from a Japanese TV station approaches her to document her daily life. Why would they choose Ye Jin, a top model who appears to be in her late 20s or early 30s? Well, despite her youthful appearance, Ye Jin was actually born in 1945 and is nearing 80 years of age. How is this possible? As a survivor of the Hiroshima atomic bombing,Ye Jin has a condition where she ages less than her actual age, a phenomenon known as “Immortal”. Taking on the genre of fake documentary, Immortal seems to expose the duality of Koreans who are sensitive to differences through Ye Jin, who, despite being a victim of the atomic bombing, returns to Korea only to be confined and discriminated against for not being normal. As a result, Ye Jin’s statements take on a game of Truth or Dare halfway through the film, but it does not aim to delve into the negative sides of Koreans’ dispositions. Instead, it maintains the identity of the genre and delves deeper into Ye Jin’s immortality, delivering a shocking and unexpected ending.
