Hye Won is a stern single independent woman who works in a bank in Seoul. She is very self-centered and doesn’t care to help other people. However, due to problems at work, she is forced to take time off work. Desperate for a change of pace, she visits Mudo island, where she spent her childhood in her grandfather’s house. There, she is reunited with her childhood friend, Kim Bok Nam, a cheerfulmother who is delighted to see Hye Won. However, soon enough, Hye Won starts seeing the injustice and misogyny of the island’s socially regressive inhabitants toward Bok Nam.
