The shortest member of WEi is Kang Seokhwa with a height of 172 cm (5’8”).

Kim Donghan and Jang Daehyeon were participants on the survival show Produce 101, season 2 in 2017.
Yoo Yongha and Kim Junseo participated in on Under Nineteen ranking in 6th and 9th place, respectively. They were part of the final lineup of 1THE9.
Kang Seokhwa and Kim Yohan participated in Produce X 101 in 2019, placing 35th and 1st place, respectively. Yohan debuted in the final lineup of X1, which disbanded in Jan 2020.

The group had other potential debut candidates, for example, former YG Entertainment trainees Hidaka Mahiro and Wang Jyun Hao who joined the company in 2019 around the time of Kang Seok Hwa’s joining, however, they left the agency in early 2020, a few months before the official announcement of the group’s debut. Won Jong Seok (1BELL), was listed as a trainee of the company in 2017, he even auditioned for The Unit but was not selected, he left the agency in mid-2018. Actor Jo Sung Wook was also involved in the group’s training in early 2017.
Members Yong Ha and Jun Seo were absent from the first episodes of the group’s variety reality show “OUI GO UP” as they were still promoting as members of the project group, 1THE9.
“IDENTITY:First Sight” topped the iTunes album chart in 10 regions, ranking #2 in Malaysia and Thailand, #4 in Vietnam, #5 in Singapore and the Philippines, #6 in Brazil, #7 in Hong-Kong, #21 in Japan, #81 in France and #177 in Canada.
“IDENTITY:First Sight” debuted at #26 on iTunes Top 100 K-Pop Albums. The Mini-Album also ranked #1 on Hanteo Chart in real time.
The group joined TREASURE and CRAVITY as the only 2020 rookie groups to enter the Apple Music chart in Japan, debuting at #333.
They managed to rank #2 on MelOn, #4 on Naver and #8 on Genie in real-time searches after releasing “IDENTITY : First Sight”.
They ranked #3 as one of the best-selling 2020 rookie groups on their first day, being beaten only by TREASURE and CRAVITY.
“TWILIGHT” ranked #6 as one of the most viewed debut music videos by a rookie group in the first 24 hours with a total of 4,611,225 views on YouTube.
IDENTITY : First Sight surpassed 100,000 streams on Spotify’s platform just two days after its debut, and also managed to accumulate a total of 14K monthly listeners in those two days.
Their debut music video “TWILIGHT” managed to surpass 1 million views in just 6 hours, and surpassed 10 million views in 62 hours.
They were trending #1 in real time on MelOn after their debut performance at M! Countdown.
On October 13, 2020 they were nominated for #1 on The Show, coming in second place just 887 points behind first place.
TWILIGHT ranked No. 7 as the debut song by a 2020 rookie group with the most streams on MelOn’s platform.
By the end of the year, they managed to rank No. 5 as one of the best-selling 2020 rookie groups, selling a total of 67,501 copies of their debut Mini Album.
On April 1, 2021, the entertainment platform UNIVERSE announced them together with OH MY GIRL and CRAVITY as its new artists who will soon launch new exclusive content on the platform.
“IDENTITY : Action” set a new sales number for its first day of release with a total of 34,263 copies sold, thus surpassing “IDENTITY : Challenge (21,565)” and “IDENTITY : First Sight (10,058).”
They also set a new personal record by selling 63,562 copies in their first week of sales.
“BYE BYE BYE BYE” entered the #40 spot on the music portal Bugs, making it the group’s best chart entry since its debut. Also, the B-Side “White Light” debuted at #100 on the same chart, making it the group’s first B-Side entry on a Korean music portal.
They became the first and only rookie group debuting in 2020 to achieve their first victory in “Immortal Songs”, this happened on the July 10, 2021 broadcast.
They ranked #30 for boys’ group brand reputation ranking for the month of December 2021, also becoming their first entry on the list since their debut in October 2020.

On the afternoon of March 11, 2022, a ceremony was held for the Little Ones of Korea Green Umbrella Foundation, a foundation dedicated to making the world a better place for children. The group was selected as the new Honorary Ambassadors and it was shared that they made a donation of 45 million won to the Children’s Character Cultivation Campaign Project.
It is hoped that the group’s donations will be actively used for future child character development campaigns.
Japan’s debut mini album “Youth” topped the 1st place in Oricon’s daily ranking selling 22,016 copies on the first day of its release.
