Facts
- When DBSK was formed, Lee Soo Man gave the order to put the members on a water diet (which basically consisted of leaving them dead) to make their faces thinner so that they look better in the pictures. This is why they often try to get artists to undergo plastic surgery in order to boost their appearances.
- TVXQ was formed as a group that varies …. What does this mean? If you look at other SM groups, there is usually one or two vocalist(s) and the rest are rappers (those who can’t according to them can’t sing that well). When DBSK was formed, they put 5 wannabe “singers” (if they were all in different groups, they would all be lead singers) together, and of course it was a huge success. They had the crazy idea of making DBSK a rotating group. This meant that when DBSK goes to Japan / China / other places, one or two members would be taken out to work with other groups / on solo projects in Korea, to make DBSK popularity popular in Korea and eliminate rival groups. In the original approach the five would rarely act together to maintain the monopoly in all Asian countries, they did not seem to have any decision with what to do and how within the group.
- Members Jaejoong and Yoochun were reprimanded on many occasions for being the most “troublesome” because, according to SM, Jaejoong had the least fans and made the least money. That’s why they thought of removing him from the group. As for Yoochun, he continually refused to participate in the rotation and stayed away from his peers.
- TVXQ showed how popular they are in Japan when they became the first Korean singers to hold a concert at the Tokyo Dome in 2009.
