NCT Dream is composed of seven members born between 1999 and 2002. Their names are: Chenle, Haechan, Jaemin, Jeno, Jisung, Mark, and Renjun. The leader and oldest member of NCT Dream is Mark (born Aug 2, 1999). The youngest member (maknae) is Jisung (born Feb 5, 2002). Of the 7 members, 4 are Korean, 2 are Chinese, and 1 is Canadian. - The youngest member (maknae) of NCT Dream is Jisung (born Feb 5, 2002).
- The tallest members of NCT Dream are Jisung and Chenle with a height of 179 cm (5’11”).
- The shortest member of NCT Dream is Huang Renjun with a height of 170 cm (5’7”).
- The main dancers of NCT Dream are Jisung and Mark. Mark is also the leader and the oldest member of this sub-unit.
- NCT Dream members were among the youngest members of NCT. All the members started training at a very young age.
- NCT Dream was originally created as a sub-unit for members whose age was under 20 years old. In 2018, when Mark turned 20 (Korean age), he graduated from the group. However, in 2020, the ‘graduation’ system was removed and Mark rejoined NCT Dream as a permanent member. NCT Dream is now a fixed sub-unit with the original seven members: Chenle, Haechan, Jaemin, Jeno, Jisung, Mark, and Renjun.
Facts
- It is the third NCT sub-unit to debut.
- Rotating Unit: members remain in the group until they reach the age of 20 (Korean age).
- When they made their debut they were between 14 and 17 years old.
- They surpassed one million views in just 14 hours of their debut.
- Since the sub-unit is intended for teen members and will have an age limit, adult NCT members cannot join NCT Dream.
- Mark, Jeno, Hae Chan, Jae Min and Ji Sung participated in Disney Channel Korea’s Mickey Mouse Club.
- Mark, Jeno, Hae Chan, Jae Min and Ji Sung belonged to SM Entertainment’s pre-debut project, SMROOKIES. SM staff used to call them “Baby TVXQ”.
- Mark is the only NCT member who was in the first 3 sub-units; NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT DREAM.
- Jae Min and Jeno entered the agency on the same day, so they became friends quickly. Jae Min said that Jeno was his “sunbae for 3 hours”.
- Jae Min did not participate in the promotions of his first Single Album and first Mini Album due to a spinal injury, which has been clarified by the company.
- It is the first sub-unit to win first place in a music program.
- It is the youngest K-Pop group to win “Triple Crown” in music shows.
- On June 12, 2017 at 8 pm (Korean time), through NCT’s V-app channel, they and the other members revealed the name of the fandom, which would be “NCTzen”.
- Mark is no longer the leader of the group because SM Entertainment decided that NCT Dream will no longer have a leader, as members will change and leave the group as they come of age. Despite this, the other members still consider him to be the leader of the group.
- They are the only K-Pop group to enter Billboard’s “TOP 21 Under 21” list, being the only Asian artists to enter that list. This was released on October 12, 2018.
- NCT Dream is the first NCT unit to have its own concert (no showcase).
- For the Dream Show, the kids had different challenges which they called DREAM Challenge. Mark made different name tags to give to fans, Ren Jun decorated 7 pairs of sneakers (1 for each member), Jeno learned acrobatics, Hae Chan made over 400 handmade bracelets to give to fans, Jae Min recorded and edited a video of the members, Chen Le stuffed a teddy bear over 2 meters (which fans could take photos with outside the theater) and Ji Sung learned to play the Launchpad, with which he introduced Joy.
- NCT Dream is the only K-Pop group to make it onto TIME magazine’s “2018 List Of 25 Most Influential Teens”. The list was released on December 7, 2018.
- At the December 2 Dream Show NCT Dream confirmed that Mark would be graduating on December 31 of that same month.
- In November 2018, NCT modified its YouTube channel, renaming it NCT Channel and also added 3 new sub-channels, NCT Daily, NCT Dance and NCT Music, in which members upload different videos and have different series. Among those of NCT Dream are “Seasonies Would Like This Too DREAM”, “Chenji’s This And That”, and videos recorded/edited by Jae Min visiting different places with other members, among other things.
- On March 12, 2019, Jeno, Jae Min and Ji Sung participated in the ‘K-Wave & Halal Show in Malaysia’ event on behalf of NCT Dream, where they had a fan-sign and met the President and First Lady of South Korea.
- They are the first NCT unit to win a Daesang award.
- ‘We Boom’ broke all Hanteo sales records for allNCT units, selling over 122 thousand copies on its first day, over 182 thousand in the first week, and surpassing NCT 2018 Empathy in just 3 weeks with over 225 thousand copies.
- On January 22, 2020, NCT Dream’s first Japanese mini album was released, with seven different versions, one group version and one for each member.
- With ‘RELOAD’, NCT Dream once again broke the first week sales record of all NCT, with 372 thousand copies sold on Hanteo in just its first day.
- “We Go Up” has been certified Platinum in Gaon for selling over 250,000 units.
