LOONA is composed of 11 members born between 1996 and 2002. Their names are: Vivi, Yves, JinSoul, Haseul, Kim Lip, Heejin, Hyunjin, Go Won, Choerry, Olivia Hye, and Yeojin. On Nov 25, 2022 BlockBerry Creative made official the removal of Chuu from LOONA.
The oldest member is Vivi (born Dec 9, 1996). The youngest member (maknae) is Yeojin (born Nov 11, 2002).
There are 10 Korean members and 1 member from Hong Kong. Vivi is the only foreigner in the group (from Hong Kong).

The second season of web drama “Do You Remember The First Time We Met?” premiered on August 23, 2017. The season continues to star Hee Jin, Hyun Jin and Ha Seul, although ViVi’s character will also be given prominence. The third season of web-drama “Do You Remember The First Time We Met?” premiered on February 7, 2017. This time, the female lead roles are played by ODD EYE CIRCLE girls Kim Lip, Jin Soul and Choerry.
- On April 23, 2017, Hee Jin, Hyun Jin, Ha Seul, Yeo Jin and ViVi, made their first live broadcast through VLive to commemorate LOONA TV’s 100th episode, in which they reviewed each member’s introduction revealed so far and highlights about their episodes. At the end of the episode, it achieved a total of 25,785 views and surpassed 700,000 hearts.
- On September 18, 2017, it was reported that 3 LOOΠΔ girls will join the program “MIXNINE”, an upcoming reality competition program in which YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun Suk goes to different agencies around Korea to find new talents associated with YG Entertainment. On September 25, it was confirmed that the three members that will participate in ‘MIXNINE’ will be Ha Seul, Hee Jin and Hyun Jin. Finally, Hee Jin and Hyun Jin passed the auditions. Ha Seul was criticized by Yang Hyun Suk. After the broadcast of the second episode of MIXNINE where LOONA girls appeared, it became #1 trending on Naver and #4 on MelOn.

In addition, the song “favOriTe” debuted at #26 on Bugs and #137 on Genie, the first time a LOOΠΔ song managed to appear on more than one chart.
- The song “favOriTe” in the “iTunes K-Pop Songs” category has reached #1 in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Poland, etc. In the “iTunes Worldwide” category they have reached #1 in Argentina, Costa Rica, Estonia, Latvia, Singapore, Brazil, Guatemala, Chile, etc., and #15 overall. In the “iTunes Pop Song” category, they reached #1 in Argentina and Brazil.
- Hours after the release, the music video for “favOriTe” has managed to trend on YouTube, #4 United States, #4 United Kingdom, #14 Brazil, #21 France, #31 Spain, #32 South Korea, #46 Argentina, #54 Japan, etc. “favOriTe” managed to reach 1 million plays on YouTube in 18 hours and 57 minutes, surpassing all other pre-debut music videos of the group.
- Minutes after the release of the mini album the group has managed to trend #1 on Melon, #1 on Naver, and #LOONA_HIHIGH climbed to the top positions in many countries on Twitter.
- The song “Hi High” on Bugs managed to debut at #19, “Perfect Love” at #35, “Stylish” at #38, “열기 (9)” at #42 and “++” at #60. On Genie they also made it in, “Hi High” debuted at #109, #92 on Naver and #117 on Soribada.
- The group’s first mini album “[+ +]” debuted at #2 on “iTunes Worldwide”, only the second Kpop group to do so in its debut. It also ranked #1 in ten countries (including Brazil and Chile), top 5 in 15 countries and top 10 in 6 countries. In addition, “Hi High” and “[+ +]” ranked #1 on the “iTunes Kpop Song/Album Chart” in the United States, respectively. Within a day of its release, “Hi High” was ranked #1 on “iTunes Kpop Song” in more than 22 countries, including the UK, the US, Chile and more.
- LOOΠΔ had its first fansign as a full group on August 25, 2018 at 15:30 KST at the KOBACO HALL building.
- With their first mini album they achieved several feats. “[+ +]” ranked #1 on Hanteo’s “Real Time Chart” within 3 days of its release, with over 11,000 copies sold in real time. “[+ +]” sold over 13,000 copies in its first week of release on Hanteo, ranking as the highest selling female debut physical release on that platform (not considering debuts with digital singles or project groups). In addition, “[+ +]” debuted at #4 on Billboard’s “World Albums Chart” while on the “Social Chart” the group debuted at #31. “[+ + +]” debuted at #2 on the “Weekly Album Chart” and “Hi High” #9 on Gaon’s “Weekly Social Chart.” Also, “[+ +]” debuted at position #6 on Gaon’s “Monthly Album Chart” for the month of August with a total of 41,583 copies sold. Finally, GAON released the list of girl groups that have sold the most physically and digitally, LOOΠΔ has managed to rank in physical sales at #8, in digital sales #14 and overall #14 with only one album.
- They had their first #1 nomination in a music program with “Hi High”, this was on The Show on August 4, coming in at #2 winning in two of the three criteria just 800 points out of first place.
- On September 23, 2018 during the broadcast of the Inkigayo program and on September 29 on Show! Music Core, they presented the “rock” version of “Hi High”.
- On September 15, the brand reputation ranking for individual members of girl groups was released and all LOOΠΔ members made it in.
- On September 29, the agency BlockBerry Creative announced that on their way to the stylist to perform on Show! Music Core had been involved in a minor car accident but none of the group members had been hurt, so the mini fan meting that was to be held after the pre-recording was cancelled.
- They have proven their popularity by selling more than 50,000 copies of their debut album in less than two months. So their company had to have more copies printed to meet the demand.
- The group attended Seoul Fashion Week on October 19, 2018 with a “Disney X LOTTE” concept.
- They are the fastest group to win an EMA award since their debut.
- After the second day of “LOONA Studio”, they have gained more popularity and praise from Korean fans, highlighting the members’ singing and instrument skills during the show, and Kim Lip was trending worldwide on Twitter.
- On December 10, 2018, the group and sub-units performed at the Mnet Asia Music Awards ceremony by first performing “Love&Live” by LOONA 1/3, “Girl Front” by LOONA ODD EYE CIRCLE, “love4eva (feat. Grimes)” by LOONA yyxy and at the end “Hi High”, also during the event the hashtag #LOONAatMAMA #HaSeul and #HeeJin were trending on Twitter.
- BlockBerry Creative has released on December 18, 2018 an app called “loonatheworld” available on Android and iOS stores for the first generation of the fanclub which allows you to communicate with the members, know the group’s schedule, etc.
- The list of favorite groups of 2018 among of the LGBT community in Korea has been released and LOOΠΔ (+ sub-units) is at #5 with 120 points. Nine of the twelve members have appeared on the list of most loved idol’s by the LGBT community of 2018. Yves is at #11 with 376 points, #19 Chuu with 273 points, #26 Jin Soul with 180 points, #27 Kim Lip with 178 points, #28 Hee Jin with 174 points, #29 Olivia Hye with 172 points, #36 Go Won with 147 points, #58 Choerry with 74 points and Hyun Jin #73.
- Billboard has released the list of “10 Best New K-Pop Acts of 2018” placing LOONA at #3.
- In the “Girl Group Brand Rankings” list for the month of March 2019 they have achieved the #11 position with a total of 3,262,326 being so far the highest position. Over the course of the year the group has achieved the positions #22 January, #33 February, #12 April, #27 May, #22 June, #28 July, #27 August, #19 September, #23 October, #24 November and #22 December.
- The group’s first repackage album “[x x]” reached #1 in 26 countries on the iTunes General Albums Chart, #1 on the iTunes Worldwide and #23 on the iTunes Global Artist Ranking. In the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart “Butterfly” has climbed to #57. In addition, “[x x]” has reached #3 of the top #1 Korean female artist albums on iTunes. On February 20, the album “[x x]” entered the Apple Music Albums Chart in 46 countries, which includes 25 top 50s, 13 top 20s, 7 top 10s and 4 top 5s. The highest so far has been #3 in Chile. The group also managed to trend on the portal. “[x x]” debuted at #4 on the “World Albums Chart”, #7 on the “Heatseekers Albums Chart”, #21 on Billboard’s “Independent Albums Chart” and the group re-entered the “Billboard Social 50” at #38. Finally, the album “[x x]” has been chosen as #5 among the top 25 K-Pop album’s of 2019 according to Billboard critics, being the highest ranking album by a girl group in this ranking.
- On the Korean charts “Butterfly” managed to debut #6 on Bugs, #4 on Naver Music, #63 on Melon, #72 on Soribada and #73 on Genie. On Bugs all the songs managed to enter the chart. In the real-time search engines LOOΠΔ has achieved the #1 positions on Melon, #6 Genie and #7 Soribada, besides “Butterfly” achieved the #8 position on Melon. On Melon within the Melon Trend Chart the album “[x x]” managed to debut at position #72. In the Melon Dance Genre Chart they have climbed up to position #11. In the Genie TV Popular Videos Chart they have reached the #6 position. The song “Butterfly” is the group’s first song to enter Gaon’s Weekly Download Chart, they have reached position #90. They have also debuted at position #3 on the “Social Chart” with a total of 41,271 points.
- The music video for “Butterfly” has made it into Mnet’s Daily Music Video Top 100 at position #4, Melon’s Melon Trend Chart at position #3, Genie’s Daily Music Video Chart at position #3 all on February 19. Similarly, on YouTube the music video for “Butterfly” managed to trend in different countries, highlighting #12 in the UK and #17 in the US. During the first comeback as a full group the hashtags #LOONA_BUTTERFLY, #LOONAsComingBack and #LOONA trended worldwide.
- As part of the growing popularity that LOOΠΔ is achieving, just one day after returning with their new album they have appeared in the news in South Korea where they explained what the group was about, also on CNN Indonesia during a segment that showed viral trends on the internet, also the artist Charli XCX who is a DJ on Apple Music station, during her program BEATS1 played the song “Butterfly”.
- Within minutes of the end of the comeback stage on the M! Countdown the group has managed to trend #1 on Melon and #13 on Naver.
- They currently hold the highest score in votes through the Starpass application for The Show, the figure is 3,682,054 points, this was realized on February 25, 2019. This score was counted on the day of February 26, 2019 on the broadcast of The Show where they were again nominated for #1, coming in second place.
- During their first comeback with the song “Butterfly” they have once again been nominated for #1 on The Show, this time three times, and as with “Hi High” they have reached #3 on M! Countdown.
- On the “KPop Idol Brand Reputation” list for the month of June 2019 at #18 with 2,544,901 points, the highest so far. Over the course of the year, the group has achieved the #19 spot in March, #29 September, #53 October and #52 December.
- The issue no.95 of “10star” magazine is starring LOOΠΔ with a total of 37 pages including photo shoots and interview. During the pre-sale it was sold out.
- As part of the #BURN concept for the upcoming comeback the group has started a series of covers:
- The first one was BTS’s “Fire”, with this one they have managed to trend on YouTube and Hee Jin on Twitter worldwide, also this one managed to reach one million views in one week. It was released on April 22, 2019.
- The second one was NCT 127’s “Cherry Bomb”, in which they had the help of the song’s original choreographer who works for SM Entertainment plus BlockBerry Creative. This one has managed to reach 1 million plays in less than two days, it was trending on YouTube highlighting the #43 position in Korea, it has managed to trend on Twitter as well as several members, Naver and Daum have featured articles about the cover. It was released on May 22, 2019.
- The third one was GOT7’s “Eclipse”, which was first released through the “IDOL COVER DANCE CHALLENGE” on November 14 along with a making off and then on December 3, LOONA’s official channel would have it on the official channel.
- In the 2019 list of the most loved Korean female LGBT idol’s, 10 of the 12 members have managed to appear: Yves is ranked #11 with 370 points, #16 Olivia Hye with 284 points, #22 Chuu with 235 points, #29 Hee Jin with 179 points, #30 Kim Lip with 161 points, #43 Jin Soul, #44 Go Won, #70 Hyun Jin, #75 Ha Seul and #91 Choerry.
- LOOΠΔ’s participation in KCON LA marked their first performance abroad. On August 15 they arrived at the airport where they were welcomed by many people in a very respectful way. On the 16th they were at the KCON convention and at the end of the day they performed at the KCON Rookies together with ATEEZ and AB6IX, in this mini concert they performed “favOriTe”, “Colors” and a cover of “Fire” by BTS. On the 17th and last day for them at KCON they had a “meet & greet” which filled the designated space gathering a large number of fans, they were also in the panels of the KCON Beauty and ChipsAhoy, as a closing they participated in the KCON LA M! Countdown opening the event with a cover performance of BTS’ “Not Today”, then returning with “Butterfly”, a “random play dance” of BTS’ “Fire”, SEVENTEEN’s “Thanks” and NCT 127’s “Cherry Bomb” and as a finale with their debut song “Hi High”. Throughout the participation in all these events, they were trending globally on Twitter repeatedly.
- Due to the problem that Polaris Entertainment generated with the Japanese brand “IT Donuts”, which sued them since all the members of LOOΠΔ had to appear in the MyLive application, on October 17th the great majority of LOOΠΔ’s discography has resurfaced in the iTunes portal, the biggest achievement being reaching after nine months #1 in the Albums category on iTunes USA with the album “[X X]” thus joining Red Velvet and TWICE as the only K-Pop female groups to reach this position. They also reached #1 again in the K-Pop albums and Pop categories. Following the growing momentum from earlier releases, the group’s repackage album “[x x]” has reached #1 worldwide and in 34 countries on the overall iTunes album chart, surpassing the previous record of #26 set in the week of its release.
- LOOΠΔ has become the first female group to win the popularity award (based solely on fan votes) at the Asia Artist Awards.
- The song “Butterfly” has been chosen by the portal IZM among the top 10 songs within its annual list in 2019, being one of the three idol-pop songs in this one, this portal is Korea’s most read music review media and the famous Melon platform, through its Melon Magazine, recognized the song “Butterfly” in the #7 position of the best Kpop songs of 2019.
- By way of celebration fans managed to get “The Carol”, which was released in 2016, to climb positions on iTunes and reach #1 in three countries, and it also managed to debut at #5 on the “Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart”.
- Within minutes of being released, the song “365” was trending #7 on Melon and the group #5. The hashtag #365WithLOONA, on Twitter, trended #1 worldwide and in several other countries, and the song debuted at #70 on the Bugs portal. The song “365” has reached #1 in 23 countries on iTunes and #4 in the “Worldwide iTunes Song” category on the day of its release.
- LOOΠΔ has become the first Korean female group, and second overall, to reach #1 on both the iTunes USA album and song charts.
- LOOΠΔ has become the fastest K-Pop group to reach #1 on the “iTunes US Song Charts” since their debut, they have achieved this with the song “365” taking only 480 days since its debut and the song “365” has debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “World Digital Song Sales”, thus becoming the group’s first song to achieve this, LOOΠΔ was the second female K-Pop group and the fifth overall, also in K-Pop, to achieve this during 2019.
- On January 02, 2020, it was disclosed in Seoul Shinmun newspaper under the monthly column section that “Butterfly” has been chosen as the best music video and performance of the year 2019 chosen by critics.
- The group is ranked #10 in the US Business Center of Korea Creative Content Agency’s survey of Korean content consumption among US residents.
- In the “Girl Group Brand Rankings” list for the month of March 2020 they have achieved the #01 position with a total of 5,458,749 points being the highest so far. - The album “[#]” has debuted at #1 on the “iTunes USA album chart”, climbed to #1 in 60 countries on the “iTunes General Album Chart” surpassing the previous record set by “[xx]” at #34 and setting the record for the most #1 for a KPop girl group on this chart, as well as the album “[xx]” has reached #1 on the “iTunes Worldwide” and has become the KPop girl group to hold the most #1 albums for 38 hours since its release. The song “So What” has also reached #1 in 20 countries on the “iTunes Single chart” and debuted at #11 on the “US iTunes Top Songs charts”.
- LOOΠΔ has become the second Korean girl group to reach #1 on the “iTunes USA album chart” more than once, Red Velvet is the other group to do so. In addition, LOOΠΔ is the second in group to achieve #1 on the “iTunes USA album chart” in 2020, the first being ATEEZ. The group has achieved #12 on the iTunes “Global Digital Artist Ranking” after releasing “[#]”. Lastly, LOOΠΔ along with BLACKPINK are the only Korean girl groups to reach #1 on the “UK iTunes charts”.
- The song “So What” debuted at #4 on “World Digital Song Sales” and the album “[#]” debuted at #4 on Billboard’s “World Albums”, #44 on “Top Current Albums”, #54 on “Top Album Sales” and #19 on Billboard’s “Heatseekers Albums”. The group has also ranked #17 on the “Billboard Emerging Artists” chart.
- The album “[#]” has debuted at #2 on the “Weekly Album Chart” and #68 on Gaon’s “Download Chart”.
- On February 24, 2020, the website orbitjapan.jp, an official fanclub for Japanese fans of the group, was opened. The site is counting down to March 10, with a new photo every day.
- On March 12, 2020 the group received their first music show award, #LOONA1stWin trended #1 globally on Twitter. The week prior to their award “So What” reached #23 on Spotify’s global viral chart, plus the group re-entered Billboard’s social chart at #47.
- It was revealed on June 16, 2020 that the first official Lightstick would be launched, previously the agency had put on sale a prototype in the concerts held, and on the 17th the model was revealed with all the purchase information plus all the details that would have highlighting among all the length of this, thus becoming the largest among all that have been launched so far by Korean artists.
- Due to the return of the album “[x x]” to #1 on iTunes US in the “Albums” category, the group has become the first female K-pop group to reach #1 in this category with all of their albums to date, they have also become one of the only groups to reach #1 with all of their albums, in addition to having multiple #1s in 2020 and one of the few female K-Pop groups in history to reach #1 three times.
- The song “Why Not?” managed to reach the following positions in the Korean charts: #15 Bugs, #63 Genie, #81 Soribada and #85 VIBE. Moreover, the other songs from the album “[12:00]” also entered the Bugs portal: #45 Voice , #48 Universe, #51 Fall Again, #53 Hide & Seek, #62 12:00, #67 OOPS! and #90 Star (Eng Ver).
- Minutes after releasing the album “[12:00]” the group became #1 trending worldwide on Twitter, on the Melon portal it reached #3 in searches and on Naver it reached #06.

- In the list “Girl Group Brand Rankings” for the month of August 2021 they have achieved the #10 position. Over the years they have ranked #15 January, #18 February, #12 March, #20 April, #17 May, #23 June, #15 July, #15 September, #16 October, #15 November and #13 December.
- On the “Idol Brand Reputation” list for the month of January 2021 they have achieved the #30 position with a total of 1,391,439 points. Throughout the year: #32 February, #33 May and #31 October.
- LOOΠΔ has managed to debut on the “Billboard Pop Songs Airplay Chart” at the #40 spot with the song “Star” thus joining BTS, BLACKPINK, MONSTA X as the only K-Pop groups in history to enter this chart.

- The Melon portal has created a list called “K-POP Masterpieces 100” where 34 music critics have chosen 100 songs out of 1120 and the song “Butterfly” has achieved the #69 spot.

- The single album “HULA HOOP / StarSeed 〜カクセイ〜” has managed to sell a total of 23,806 copies on its first day of release making it the biggest seller among all the group’s albums, It has also reached #03 on the “Oricon Single Chart Daily”, #06 on the “Oricon Weekly Chart” and #03 on the “Billboard JAPAN Top Singles”, the latter selling 27,029 copies in its first week, and several versions of the album have been sold out.
- LOONA has made its first entry to Billborad Japan, first on the “Billboard Japan Hot 100” the song “HULA HOOP” debuted at #38 and on the “Billboard Japan Artist 100 Chart” the group debuted at #52.
- In the “Girl Group Brand Rankings” list for the month of June 2022 they have achieved the #05 position. Over the years they have ranked #13 January, #18 February, #14 March, #13 April, #13 May, #13 July, #16 August, #20 September and #18 October.
- On January 18th tickets for February 12th (Offline/Online) were put on sale through the Melon portal for fan club members for the “LOOΠΔVERSE: FROM” concert and in only 3 minutes the 2nd and 3rd floors were sold out, the next day the rest of the tickets were made available and sold out in only 1 minute. Due to the great demand of tickets for the first day, another date has been added on February 11th (Offline only), this was confirmed on January 22nd.
- Tickets for all U.S. locations of his first World Tour sold out in less than 30 minutes, due to high demand an extra date in Los Angeles was added.
- During the group’s participation in the Queendom 2 program, all the songs they released throughout the program debuted on the “BILLBOARD World Digital Song Sales Chart” and even reached the top: #1 Shake It, #5 Pose, #6 PTT (Queendom Ver.), #10 Butterfly (Queendom Ver.), #11 Tell Me Now and #14 Don’t Go. All of them reached #1 on Itunes in different countries. They have also become the only group from both Queendom and Kingdom to reach #1 on the “BILLBOARD World Digital Song Sales Chart”.
- Due to their comeback with their new album [Flip That] the group managed to trend worldwide #1 on Twitter with the #LOONA_FLIPTHAT_MV and on the Melon portal the group was trending #2 and #10 the song “Flip That”.
- LOONA with their mini album [Flip That] has managed to break their record in first day sales on Hanteo with a total of “54,065” far surpassing the previous mini album [&] and they have also surpassed the sales during their first week reaching a total of 117,387 copies.
- The song “Flip That” debuted at the #01 position on Bugs portal and managed to hold that position for over 9 hours, it also made it to Genie portal reaching the #127 position and under the old system of Melon portal it debuted at the #32 position. It is the first time since their debut that a song of the group has reached #01 on a Korean portal. Also all the other songs of the mini album made it to the Bugs portal reaching #14 “Need U”, #18 “Pale Blue Dot”, #21 “Playback”, #25 “Pose” and #33 “The Journey”. The following day the song “Flip That” reached the #02 position on the “Bugs Daily Chart”.
- The album [Flip That] has reached #01 in 32 countries on the “iTunes General Album Chart”, #01 on the “iTunes Worldwide”, “iTunes European Album Chart” and the “Amazon US Best Sellers: Digital Albums”. Also, the song “Flip That” has reached #01 in 10 countries on the “iTunes Single chart”. It is also the K-Pop girl group with the most #01 on the “US iTunes Album Chart” with a total of 7 albums. The next day the mini album [Flip That] reached #01 on the “Bugs Daily Album Chart”.
- LOONA has joined Dreamcatcher as the only girl groups to reach #1 on the US iTunes Album Chart in 2022.
- The song “Flip That” has managed to enter the Gaon Digital Chart at #93 being the group’s first song to climb into the Top 100. Also the mini album [Flip That] has debuted at #4 on the Gaon Album Chart and all of their songs have managed to debut on the Gaon Download Chart: #06 Flip That, #50 Pale Blue Dot, #56 Need U, #59 Playback, #63 POSE and #73 The Journey. The group has also reached #31 on the “Gaon Social Chart 2.0”.
