- The name LE SSERAFIM is an anagram from “I’m Fearless”. It represents the strength and courage of the members.
- Source Music was originally preparing to debut a boy group after the debut of GFRIEND. However, the agency was acquired by HYBE Labels in 2019 and the company changed to specialize in girl groups.
- Sakura and Chaewon, whose contracts with IZ*ONE had ended in 2021, were recruited right after to join the new group.

- It is Source Music’s third female group, after GLAM and GFRIEND, and the first to debut at the agency following its acquisition by HYBE.
- The lineup of members that would make up the group was finalized in January 2022, four months before the debut, when Hong Eun Chae joined the group. In contrast, Kim Chae Won was the first member to join.
- On April 29, 2022, Source Music reported that the group would have its own webtoon titled “Crimson Heart”. It was also reported that “Blue Flame”, the third track from the group’s debut album “FEARLESS”, would be the official track of the webtoon.
- On August 8, 2022, LE SSERAFIM unveiled a new logo video revealing the name of its official fan club: “FEARNOT”.
