- Before the official debut the band appeared on March 13, 2007 on M.Net in a program called “Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” where they competed in a contest about what kind of boy girls like the most.
- Their debut album “Cheerful Sensibility” was the sixth best-selling album in 2007, selling over 79,000 copies.
- Their debut song “Love Sick” remained at the top of the K-Pop chart for 8 consecutive weeks.
- His album Five Treasure Island topped the Oricon chart, the first foreign artist to do so in 20 years.
- His first concert was held in Thailand, at the Royal Paragon Hall on April 12, 2008.
- In May 2009, it was announced that Oh Won Bin would leave the group and be replaced by Song Seung Hyun as guitarist and backup vocalist.
- In 2011 in the FT Island dormitory there was a small fire but they escaped unharmed. It was not known the reasons why it happened. That’s how the mv of “Hello Hello” came about. Since Hong Ki was not in the dorm with them at that time, in the mv he appears outside.
- In 2013 they ranked 15th out of 40 bands with the most members registered in their official fanclub with 89227 members.
- Secret Garden in Chapter 1 used one of the scenes of FTISLAND’s concerts in Seoul in 2010 during their filming. After FTISLAND finished their song, SBS film crew ran to the stage and turned it into Osca’s concert as well as decorated with Osca’s posters. Hong Ki even taught the Pris to pretend to be Oscar’s fans.
- A new album titled “The Mood” has been announced this 2013.
- On November 18, 2013 they released their new song “MADLY”.
- On March 23, 2015, “I WILL” was released as its first self-titled album. With the title song PRAY, it is composed by leader Choi Jong Hoon.
- On a live TV channel he offered his fans a live video where a girl of user noerc2701 asked him to speak Spanish and he said “Hola te amo”.
- FTISLAND held a concert in Canada to raise donations for the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
