APINK is composed of 5 members born between 1991 and 1996. Their names are: Hayoung, Chorong, Eunji, Bomi, and Namjoo. The oldest member and leader is Chorong (born Mar 3, 1991). The youngest member (maknae) is Hayoung (born Jul 19, 1996). Yookyung left the Apink in 2013. In April 2021, Naeun signed a new contract with YG Entertainment as an actress. In April of 2022, Naeun officially departed from Apink.

• The name Apink was only a temporary name but after spreading widely through the Internet, the agency decided to use it officially.
• They won their first mutizen on January 5, 2012 with the song “My My”.
• They are called the “Fairy-Idols” of Korea. Because they debuted with the innocent/cute concept when all girlgroups were using sexy or girlcrush concepts and according to Korean media they are the ultimate reference of this concept.
• During their first fanmeet, Apink announced Panda as the name of their official fanclub, a pun between the group’s name & the Korean word ‘fan’ (팬, paen).
• Apink has two dance steps named after animals, the ‘Butterfly Dance’ in “I Don’t Know” and his ‘Bunny Bunny Dance’ in “It Girl”.
• On April 19, 2012, Apink released “April 19th”, a special single as a gift to their fans for their first anniversary and whose lyrics were written by the leader, Cho Rong.

• On June 14, 2017 at 7:40 p.m. the police station received an emergency call from someone threatening to kill the band members who were rehearsing at the company. They were sent 6 Seoul Metropolitan Police officers were placed around the building, to prevent any incident, at 10 pm the person who made the call did not show up and the police started investigations inside Plan A Entertainment, the girls were forced to stop their practice and were moved to their dormitories where in addition to being security of the company they had surveillance from 2 policemen. On June 15, the threatening man contacted OSEN news media saying that he called because the details reported are not true. He said, “It is not true that I threatened to kill them because Apink’s agency sued me for malicious comments. I called only twice. Nor did I disrupt the company’s work.” The man claimed that his reason for the threat was because of Apink’s airing on blind date shows with rookie male actors. He explained, “As a fan of Apink for six years, I spent a lot of time and money on Apink. Seeing Apink on blind dates, not even with actors, but with trainees, made me feel betrayed. I called his agency to complain, but they gave me a vague answer saying they didn’t know, which made me angry. So I called the police with the threat of death.” After all investigations the person who made death threats against Apink could be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison or a fine of 5 million won.
• His agency changed its name from A Cube Entertainment to Plan A Entertainment, this is because LOEN Entertainment invested 70% of its shares in the company. Subsequently Plan A Entertainment acquired 60% of the shares of E&T Story Entertainment.
