2PM is composed of six members born between 1988 and 1990. Their names are Jun.K, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Junho, Chansung. The oldest member is Jun. K (born Jan 15, 1988). The youngest member is Chansung (born Feb 11, 1990).

• All members of 2PM joined JYP Entertainment through auditions except for Nichkhun who was scouted by a talent agent.
• Taecyeon, Junho, and Chansung were competitors in the survival show SuperStarSurvival.
• Several of the members came from or lived in the United States. Taecyeon lived in Massachusetts, USA. Jay Park lived in Seattle, USA. Nichkhun lived in California, USA.
• JYP had originally formed an 11-member band called One Day. This was later split into 2PM (7 members) and 2AM (4 members).
• Jay Park left the group in 2009 after some old messages from his personal Myspace account were leaked to the public. While the messages were negative against Korea, they were also taken out of context and misinterpreted.

Facts

• They are nicknamed as the “Beast Idols” of Korea, for their energetic and powerful live performances. The first to give them this name were their own fans. For them, the strength with which they perform makes them look aggressive, like “a beast”.
• They participated in the Idol Army program, making that season the highest ranking season along with Super Junior.
• They are recognized by TVCF, the largest entity for the designation of advertising commercials in Korea, as the “Kings of Advertising” due to the fact that the group has more than 14 commercials annually nationwide and, although Girls’ Generation exceeds that number, they rank first in average ratings, number of views and downloads.
• Thailand is one of the countries in Asia where the group has achieved greater fame. The main reason is that one of its members, Nichkhun, is a native of there, for this reason they often refer to the country as their second home.
• Their first concert tour was called “Don’t Stop Can’t Stop”, giving the first recital in a luxury stage at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul. Their opening acts were their agency partners 2AM and Miss A, in addition well-known artists such as Tiger JK, Tiffany were in attendance, Yuri, Jessica and Hyoyeonde Girls’ Generation, Tasha, BEAST among others.
• They are the only group to renew a contract with the renowned Coca Cola brand for three consecutive years. For this reason, the group was invited to the special exhibition of products and logos of the company in celebration of its 125th anniversary.
• They have been working for about three years for the Korea Tourism Organization, and in 2011 became, along with Miss A, the face of Touch Korea. Nichkhun is not part of this contract, as he sponsors tourism in Thailand, his home country.
• At their first concert in Busan during the song “Thank U” the fans surprised them by throwing paper airplanes with the message “no matter what happens, we will always be here”, as a show of support after the departure of the leader, Jay Park.
• They were honoured at the 2010 Mandarin Music Honors, the largest music festival in China and one of the best in Asia, with the “Most Popular Singer in Asia” award, being the first and only Korean artist to win this category.
• Since 2010, the group has managed to position itself in the first place as “Top 10 Models” according to TVCF, as well as some members have managed to enter the rating individually. For the year 2012, TVCF places the group again in the first position of the list, but this time all six members enter, this means that the group obtained from the first to the seventh position of the list that constitutes 10 scales, being the first group to achieve it.
• The “Ministry of Gender and Family Equality” has banned their single “Hands Up” to minors for containing phrases referring to alcohol, in response to this, the group had to change the lyrics of the song live and in the chorus part instead of saying “Get Our Drinks Up (elevate your drinks)” says “Put Your Dreams Up (elevate your dreams)”.
• In 2011 the theme Take Off was used as the ending of the anime Ao No Exorcist.
• In 2011 they were selected by New York Daily News as one of the Korean groups to listen to.
• “Beautiful” was released on June 6 in Japan, achieving the record of being the best-selling single regardless of genre. 2PM visited the Shibuya store on November 22, where they received the certificate of recognition.
• They released a special album “2PM Clothes Album” in Korea, which sold out in just one day.
• “Masquerade” was composed by NA.ZU.NA and M.I, who have previously worked with artists such as Arashi, Koda Kumi and SMAP. The single also includes the track “Forever”, composed by Junho.
• They surpassed their own record in Japanese sales, where “Beautiful” sold 73,529 in one day, while “Masquerade” sold a total of 88,166 in the same time.
• They obtained a gold certificate with their single “Masquerade”, for selling more than 100,000 copies.
• 2PM is the winner of Tower Records “K-POP Lovers Awards 2012” as the best artist of the year.
• They are the first Korean group to perform at Budokan 6 times. They had more than 60,000 fans in total attend their “Six Beautiful Days” tour.
• They are the first Korean group to appear on the front page of a Japanese newspaper (taking up the entire page).

• 2PM performed at Tokyo Dome, Japan’s largest concert venue, on April 20 and 21, 2013, filling the stadium to capacity with 110,000 fans of the group. The members were seen to be very moved to tears as the fans prepared surprises for both days, including the so-called “Rainbow Ocean”.
• The teaser video for their third studio album, Grown, was screened in Time Square, New York and Piccadilly, London.
• JYP Entertainment released various codes with clues for fans to decipher to get details of the group’s comeback album Grown. This form of promotion is something new in 2PM and even in K-Pop.
• Their second promotional single is called “Comeback When You Hear This Song”. The MV shows how a relationship is ruined through the deadly sins, the girl is Pride (Pride) while each member represents the rest of the sins: Chansung-Lust (Lust), Nichkhun-Lust (Greed), Wooyoung-Purity (Sloth), Junho-Gula (Gluttony), Jun. •  MBC aired a special program called “2PM Returns Come Back Special” where for the first time they performed live their two promotional singles “Comeback When You Hear This Song” and “A.D.T.O.Y”. In this same program, they showed an interview in which the members comment on the process of preparing the album and on the personal problems they went through during the last 2 years.
• The group’s Japanese single “Give me Love” had held the top spot on Tower Records, when on May 3 “Grown,” their Korean album, managed to position itself at the top of the chart, making 2PM beat itself in Japan and proving its great popularity in the country.
• “Give me Love” was selected as the theme song for the Japanese dorama Take Five.
• Upon its release, “Grown” managed to occupy the 1st place in the physical sales ranking of Gaon and Hanteo (Korean portals) and, in turn, took over the billboard of Tower Records and HMV (Japanese portals).
• “Grown,” reached the top of the Itunes chart in 6 Asian countries at the same time (excluding Korea and Japan). It also reached the 6th place in Billboard’s weekly chart of best-selling albums in the “World Album” category.
• Tickets for the two concerts in Seoul, the culmination of his “What time is it?” Asia tour, sold out in less than an hour.
• The Grand Edition of their third studio album, Grown, contains an additional disc with solo songs composed by each of the performing members.
• Seventh Japanese single ‘Winter Games’ is released on October 16 and in 5 days sold a total of 100,011 copies, staying for more than 5 days #1 on the Oricon chart. It also reached #1 on Billboard Japan Top 100 and #1 on Tower Records weekly singles chart.
• In a radio program they said that they no longer live all 6 in one apartment, Chansung, Nichkhun and Junho are still in the same house, while Jun. K and Wooyoung have their own apartments, and Taecyeon lives with his parents.
• 2PM became the first K-Pop group to get No. 1 on the Oricon chart with albums released by the group and members individually, these are Junho and Jun.K who debuted as solo artists in Japan in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
• In July 2014, they were appointed as Honorary Ambassadors of ‘K-POP EXPO in ASIA’.
• The “2PM World Tour” will start with a concert in Seoul in October. They also plan to be in Thailand, China, USA, Indonesia and more.
